Workshops

Hello there.

We're running a workshop for staff at Leeds Uni on supporting student parents as part of their Student Support Network conference on the 2nd of July. We've realised that we are in a position now to do this independently, so if you're interested in running something similar at your organisation please get in touch!

What is the Student Parents Movement?

The demographic of the student population has shifted over the years to include a rising number of students likely to have dependents. We are the people working towards changing the academic system and government policy in order to reflect that. In the last couple of years there has been growing awareness of this group and their needs. Positive changes have been instigated to improve the lives of many students with caring responsibilities, but there is still much to be done. The Student Parents Network is a term we use to describe the individuals and groups and MP's involved in the effort to understand and tackle the barriers to education experienced by Student Parents.

We are in the process of organising a more official blog that will be up and running properly in march. If you wish to view its progress or are interested in being involved in its construction from the start (any input and feedback is welcome!) please view;
